A: Not a lot. The water is forced through four 0.3 mm misting nozzles so not much water or water pressure is needed for effective use.
A: very little but will keep the sidewalk wet
A: If by "no wind" you mean without the fan portion running, then the mist will only go as far as your water pressure allows, perhaps a foot or two. The spray distance greatly increases if you turn the fan portion on.
A: Yes the misters are independent of the blower motor and will still work with the blower motor off. The mist will not go very far though.
A: Yes they do.
A: Technically yes, but without the fan to disperse the mist, the water will only go as far as the water pressure propels it, and any higher pressure may break the machine. In addition, this unit is meant to be operated either as a fan with the misters off, or ideally, with the fan on at the same time as the misters. Any intentional misuse may void the warranty.
A: There is mist that comes out without the fan but without air flow there is no cooling effect. Mist drops straight down and it results in a big water puddle around the mister.
A: The FM-48 should not be used indoors, especially if there will be many people moving around who need good floor traction, such as waiters and dancers. We recommend using the FM-48 misting fan with a garden hose connection outside the tent to cool off the ambient air, but perhaps a portable air conditioning unit for inside the tent.
