A sensitive, technologically sophisticated, but simple-to-operate water detector. We have a below-grade entryway and outdoor drain that -- despite French drains, a sump pump, and grading -- still somehow manages to allow some occasional water into our finished basement. A simple water detector saved us once, but when a freak storm hit when we were out of town, we came home to almost 200 sq. ft. of wet carpet. With any luck, this detector is going to help us avoid that situation permanently. Not only is it very sensitive -- a wet finger is enough to set it beeping -- but it is loud enough to be heard outside the house and, best of all, it connects with wifi and sends alerts to as many e-mail addresses as you designate. I typically hate setting up wireless devices, but this was very straightforward with easy-to-follow instructions. The only negative was that the battery (the less common CR123 lithium type) either arrived drained or got drained in the setup process, because almost the moment I got the unit online, I got a message saying the battery was low. Fortunately, I had several batteries in storage, switched one out, and we were good to go. I can't speak for longevity yet, but if this saves us even one round of flooding in our basement, it will have paid for itself 10 times over. Highly recommended.

Great stand alone leak detector! I was looking into buying a leak detector that would hook up to my smart home system, but with this it doesn't rely on any other hubs or devices to work properly. It has it's own battery and emails you and beeps when it gets wet! I set it up easily in 5 minutes and tested it with a little water and it worked perfectly! I've attached an image of the email it sent me when i put water on it. There was about 30 seconds between me putting water on it and me recieve the email which I think is sufficently fast!

Zircon Leak Alert Wi-Fi Electronic Water Detector
This is a great water detector. I recently added a small water heater under the kitchen sink and while I placed a catch pan under it I had no way of knowing if there was water in the pan. This leak detector is perfect for this application. The detector comes complete with a battery (CR123a) and instruction manual. The instruction manual is well written and easy to understand. Using either IOS, Android or Windows you can configure the device. Configuring the device was a bit tricky, it took me multiple tries to get it right. Once you press the button to configure the device you have three minutes before the device turns off. I found it challenging to get the information entered in via my phone within the three minutes. Once configured the device is easy. Simply place it face down on the surface you want to monitor. Since I was placing it face down in a metal pan I did place a piece of tape across the surface contacts. You can test the device by simply wetting your finger and holding it on the contacts. The alarm is quite loud, the device flashes and an email is sent notifying you of a leak, this worked very well. If the water gets deep the device is designed to float. Another nice feature is the low battery alarm, not only will it send an email but it will also beep, the great part is the beep only works between 9am and 5pm so it will not wake you up in the middle of the night (unlike my smoke detectors). Overall I think this is a great device and would recommend it.
