A: Moon is 238,900 miles from Earth. (1.51367e+10 in.) 1.51367e+10 divided by 84in of this panel results in 180,198,809.5 panels needed. I would suggest rounding up to a full 180,198,810 panels as after climbing that far I know I'd be too tired to jump 3.5ft

A: It should be possible to simply use enough to support you while you then climb down, detach the bottom piece, climb to the top, attach it there and repeat ad infinitum.
