A: I would not put this piece of electronic equipment in a very high humidity environment like a terrarium. Use a mechanical type.
A: I think it would work for terrariums. I use mine all the time to check on the humidity in my home
A: Yes they work great. Purchased for a large call center with open floor plan.
A: I found this device to measure inside humidity and temperature at 99% accuracy also great measuring highs and low humidity.
A: Yes, this device can be used in terrarium's or other tanks. You will want to mount the device in a spot to avoid bedding getting into the device. If you have any questions, please contact the AcuRite Support Team via Live Chat, we are happy to assist you. Thank you.
A: This will simply give you the temperature & humidity level. Although I have never owned a reptile, I do believe they require a device which CONTROLS the temperature and humidity levels, not just tell you what the levels are..... If your goal is to 'just know' the levels, I believe this device would work; however, I am no reptile expert.
A: Ted, attached leaflet give temperature range as 32 to 122 F and 0 to 50 C; Humidity range: 16% - 98% relative humidity. It uses one AAA alkaline battery
A: I haven't had conditions that let it go to extremes but there are only 2 digits on each measure so it would be 0 - 99 only,
A: This unit will register from 16% to 98% RH and from 32 degree to 122 degrees F.
A: There is a toggle button on the back that toggles between C and F
A: Yes. I bought it for my Mom because I knew that the temperature on her thermostat couldn't be right. (I wanted proof that I was right, I was.) You have to press a button to change between F & C. Somehow I hit it putting it up. (I got a phone call about the temperature. It turned out to be displaying C.)
A: Hello Merz, To select between degrees Fahrenheit (ºF) or Celsius (ºC) temperature units, press the “ºC/ºF” button located on the back of the display unit. If you have any other questions, please contact the AcuRite Support Team at 262-729-4852, we are happy to assist you. Thank you.
A: Yes it can.
A: Yes! You can change F° to C° by press and hold small button on back of device.
A: Just has a magnet on the back.
A: Hello Di, The back of this monitor has a clip and a magnet for mounting. If you have any other questions, please contact the AcuRite Support Team at 262-729-4852. Thank you.
A: I put mine on the refrigerator and it works fine. i can see it everyday without going out of my way.
A: It has a stand on the back of it. On the back of the stand is a magnet. You can either stand it up or use the magnet to fasten it. I have it fastened to a metal board, and it stays securely. It would easily hang on a refrigerator or file cabinet.
A: It has a magnet which can be used to attach a metal object.

A: If it is a cool humidifier it could be correct. I use a warm humidifier and mine reads around 40 to 55% but I think I get more humidity with the steam humidifier.
A: If you rose from 16% relative humidity to 22% then that is a good climb. It all depends on how big of a house you have or room you have. Seems like it is very cold where you are at which adds to very dry air. A small humidifier will work for a room, but every time you open the door to the room you mix dry air from the rest of the house. The more you go in and out of the house the more you let dry air in the house. So it is a never ending battle. If you purchase a larger humidifier (holds 4 gallons of water it can run 8 to 10 hours before needing to refill the tank.
A: i bought this device to check our home's humidifier in different locations and to determine whether we should run our portable humidifier.
A: Well, we use it to just monitor (more for curiosity's sake) humidity ... ours sits in a screened in (on longest side) lanai in Kauai. If you are monitoring for health reasons this may not be the most effective tool but ours changes during the day but most interesting is going back to the 'history' and seeing what the lowest humidity was (when you weren't looking or during the night) and then what it is currently. It's a 'generally interesting' tool and since there's no date & time, it's a guess as to 'when' it was lowest - either humidity or temperature!
A: If it's an Acurite then it was made in China
A: China
A: China.
A: Made in China
A: China
A: This is intended for inside use and it should be protected enough from the elements in a greenhouse. It will measure: Indoor humidity range: 16% to 98% RH Indoor temperature (ºF or ºC) Indoor temperature range: 32 degree to 122 degrees F, 0 degree to 50 degree
A: Hello Cheetahtooth, The temperature range for the comfort monitor is 32º to 122º F, 0º to 50º C and the humidity is 16% to 98% RH. Please note that this comfort monitor is not made to be exposed to outdoor elements as well.
A: Just don't put it in front of the fans.!
A: No your guns will rust
A: Yes
A: Yes, this monitor can be used in a gun safe.
A: yes
A: Sure
A: No, it needs to be away from humidity sources. It measures humidity in the air. You would get an inaccurate measurement and might damage the unit.
A: We would not recommend letting the monitor get wet. This is an indoor unit and is not water resistant.
A: No, it has to be placed in a dry area and away from sources of humidity
A: For a cigar humidor you need an accurate meter. This one is not so accurate. I have two of them setting right next to each other and they both have considerably different readings. One is measuring 36 while the other says 42.
A: Yes, this can be used in a humidor.
