Q:Can this be used to drain excess lawn water into a man-made pond? How deep is deep enough to bury it and be able to handle heavyweight vehicles driving on it and parking on it?

    Answer This Question

A:  If your goal is to drain effectively into the pond, this may not work - this is perforated, which means water will leach from the pipe as it moves through it. There is a non-perforated version of this that can work, though.

A:  You'd want to consider a solid wall product.

Q:Do you need landscape fabric if it has a sock?
        by|Apr 2, 2023

        Answer This Question

A:  Not to prevent soil/silt from getting into the pipe - that's the point of the sock. However, if you want to prevent weed growth from around the pipe (like if you are laying stone to cover it), landscape fabric might help that case.

            Answer This Question

A:  No, this is not intended for heavy loads over top. It's a thin-walled flexible pipe and will crush. If you need that kind of strength, there's 4" perforated PVC pipe that's better suited for this.

Q:You stated, Made from high density polyethylene makes this product resistant to corrosion and abrasion for a longer use-life cycle. I life in Florida, my question is what is the life span of the product? Will we still need rock around and how much?

                      Answer This Question

A:  It's difficult to state an actual life span of the product (in Florida or anywhere else). Typically plastic products last a considerably long time, especially when buried. Most of the time, need for repair or replacement is caused by human intervention (damage). As for gravel? Yes. How much? Enough to keep dirt away from the pipe and to allow water to flow through the filter and into the pipe.
