Q:Does the water splash outside of the fountain?

A:  This fountain does not splash.

    A:  Yes. To expand on that, mine either leaks or splashes and I had to place a tray beneath it. I tested it in the kitchen for leaks and did not find any, so I am left to assume it is splashing. I am returning this fountain.

      Q:What are the cleaning instructions for the fountain (not the pump)? Also, does it measure 16" or 17" high? The description says one and the photo says the other.

        Q:Does it have an on/off switch, or do you have to unplug it every time you want to turn it off? Also, does it turn off automatically if it runs out of water?

        A:  There is no on off switch, you have to unplug it every time. I’m not sure about running out of water as I consistently refill it, you can tell if it’s getting low because the water starts to bubble and froth.
