Q:does the thread match a garden hose

A: No, it does not. In the description of the product, it says MPT, which stands for Male Pipe Thread. What you’re looking for is MHT, or Male Hose Thread. If you try to connect a hose to this fitting, it’ll either leak or you’ll need to make it super tight with an o-ring, but you’ll permanently damage the threads.
These standards have a female counterpart, by the way: FPT and FHT.

A: The threads do match a standard garden hose. I used it to attach a garden hose to a stock tank for easy cleaning. Just make sure the diameter is correct.

A: Charlotte Pipe does not offer a "hose adapter" fitting. Please check with your local store, someone in the plumbing aisle should be able to direct you to a "Lasco" fitting that will work.

A: The threading should be male pipe thread, as opposed to hose thread. It’ll jive with female iron or brass pipe as long as it’s threaded for pipe, though ideally it would meet female pipe threaded PVC.

A: This is a male pipe thread (MPT).
PVC fittings use the National Pipe Thread standard.
If you want to know the exact pitch and thread count, you would need to Google NPT, because I'm sorry, but I do not know.
