A: Hi Betty, Yes it can be painted. To stain the channel, use course sandpaper up and down the length of the channel. Only go the length of the channel since this will imitate the wood grain. Then stain 1-3 times depending on how dark you want the channel.

A: Michelle, you can use a flat tip screwdriver to open on the latch. It is easier with a slightly exposed end.

Q:To keep the channel openable/closable, would it be better to paint it 1) before/after adhering it to the wall? 2) shut/slightly open? 3) If painted slightly open, will closing it damage either its hinge-side or its latching-side’s paint?

A: Hi Michele, if you plan on painting the channel and opening and closing it will crack the paint at the hinge and need touchups. Most folks attach to the wall, load the cables, close and paint. If you plan on opening and closing we suggest having the opening side up and the hinge at the bottom and latching shut.

A: Hi Victor, the max 1 cable can fit is 0.43 however 3 cables 0.29 will fit in a pyramid shape inside. The dimensions of the inside are 0.97 wide x 0.50 rounded section. I hope that helps.
