A: HOWDEE !! THIS SPOUT DOES NOT USE THE END THREADS TO SCREW/HOLD THE SPOUT IN PLACE. A SERIES OF O RINGS, SEALS AND PLASTIC...ALIGN/CENTER THE SPOUT... YOU PUSH IT IN PLACE AND SECURE IT WITH THE LOCKING RING IF YOU LOOK AT THE SPOUT..YOU WILL SEE THE U SHAPED OPENING ON THE BOTTOM..THIS IS WHERE THE SPOUT GETS SECURED. I USED A MIRROR. THERE ARE DIFFERENT ESCUCHEON /TRIM PLATES THAT MAY BE USED FOR ASTHETIC PURPOSES. THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS WERE CLEAR..AND WERE UNIVERSAL SO COVERED MANY APPLICATIONS. GET SOME SILICONE PLUMBERS LUBE TO SMOOTHE THE O RING/SEAL INSTALLATION. HOPE THIS HELPS...

Answer This Question
A: The question is what ingredients are in the bathroom cleaner. Sounds like the cleaner is causing the issue. Suggest you change to soap and water. Most bathroom cleaners contain some type of strong chemical that may cause this issue

A: Check the bottom to see if there is a set screw in it

A: Use phone to take a picture of underside near wall. If you don’t see set screw, it’s threaded. Shut if water in case old pipe breaks. Maybe hard but use pliers for leverage to spin it off. If pipe breaks Congrats, saw off even, it’s now a slip on.

A: Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. This tub spout is designed for 3/4 in. and 1/2 in. threads, 1/2 in. copper slip and 1/2 in. thread in nose. Some Delta tub spouts have an adapter that would need to be removed first.

A: Not without using the old interior parts. New parts did not fit and IPS connector cheap material and broke.

A: Yes. It fits perfectly. My Delta diverter spout failed after about 5 years. The metal color between the Danco diverter and Delta diverter is very close.

Q:if I had a coupling on my copper pipe connected to a threaded piece i have to remove them for this to work correct? cuz the extender nipple on this product won't go over it

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for contacting Danco. Yes it would need to be removed first.
by|Apr 28, 2020
A: 2 choices for you. 1 remove that section of the coupling and hopefully you have enough copper to make this work . 2 you can sweat on a make adapter at the proper length and not use the slip insert that comes with this universal fit tub spout

A: Very disappointed. First of all, the directions are useless. Secondly, the spout does not fit snuggly over the copper pipe, so when I turn on the water, it sprays from the back. Finally, the back is not flush with the wall. So either the wall is crooked, or something is wrong with the spout. And I don't think it's the wall, because there were no issues with the previous spout. Really disappointed with this. I should have just kept the old calcified spout that wouldn't open up. At least then I wouldn't have water shooting out behind my tile.
