Answer This Question

A:  You will need a metric conversion chart

by|Oct 28, 2020

A:  Look up a cross reference table. Should buy metric sizes if you need them.

by|Nov 10, 2020

A:  I would use the internet to find the metric size to the corresponding size of the bit or bits in question.

    by|Oct 28, 2020

A:  Attached is a conversion table. If you need more precise results use Microsoft Excel to make the conversion. We hope this helps you.

    by|Oct 28, 2020

A:  This is a math problem. The first step is to convert the fractional dimensions of the bits to decimal fractions. For instance, a 1/4" bit is 0.25" (1 divided by 4 = 0.25). You can then convert this number to millimeters by multiplying by the conversion factor of 25.4 for the exact metric equivalent of 6.35 (0.25 * 25.4 = 6.35). Of course, you can also Google it and a good site is https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/length/inch-to-mm.html Hope this helps.

Q:Which drill bit set will be effective to drill into a stucco house exterior to secure an address plate, doorbell, and mailbox to the house?

    Answer This Question

A:  I would use a masonry bit to avoid chipping & cracking

    by|Nov 12, 2020

A:  Stucco is concrete, so use a concrete drill. Depending upon your particular situation you may wish to use outdoor caulking to attach your item, particularly if it has a large surface area. DAP Dynaflex for example. We commonly attach number (address) tiles to homes with caulking. Make sure you tape them in place overnight so they don't slide and become crooked.

A:  i would recommend using one of the larger drill bit so as to be able to use heavy duty hardware when anchoring the Address Plate, the Doorbell and the Mailbox. Each of those is a separate drilling and anchoring task. You May need molly bolts to anchor all that stuff unless you drill directly into the masonry or the furring strips every 18 inches apart.

    by|Jun 21, 2022

A:  It will take a masonry drill bit set that is carbide tipped to drill stucco and other masonry materials.

      by|Nov 13, 2020

A:  You will need a masonry bit, keep it well cooled with water. If it gets too hot to dip it into water, allow it to cool off and then dip it before it gets too hot between holes

A:  It is a regular drill bit, but high quality. I am not sure what is the main question you have, but I don't think you will have any difficulty. I use Ryobi drill and these bits. Hope it helps.

A:  It will work with any drill, but if you are using a Black and Decker drill I would not recommend doing anything more than hanging pictures or drilling holes in Swiss cheese.

        by|Feb 16, 2021

A:  Yes these drill bits should work in other drill brands. The end of the drill bit is cylindrical with a slight hexagonal (six side) shape at the end, so as long as the drill doesn’t require a special type of end, it should work fine. For my drill (which happens to also be DeWalt), the drill tightens around the cylindrical bit and then locks into place once it reaches a tight enough grip. Hope this helps!

A:  These should work very well with Plexiglass or acrylic. I've used mine on Plexi glass once and it worked very well and also they work very well in metal. The pilot point is nice to help keep it from walking. Make sure to use a lower speed as fast speeds can melt the plastic.

A:  Hi I’ve used them in drywall only so far but they are very sturdy. I think you’ll have no trouble with the plexus/Acrylic hope this helps.

              by|Jan 8, 2023

A:  As far as the 1/8 thick plexi, using these within an inch and a half of the edge may result in breakage, a step bit may work better close to the edge. On thicker plexi or when not drilling near the edge, these bits should work fine.

A:  If your frame is made of hardened steel, use something like "Tap Magic", start w/ a small pilot hole, not at high speeds (That would overheat the bit) gradually increase sizes until you are the hole you need)

A:  I have bought this drill bit set over a year ago and haven’t broken any bits so far. I would highly recommend this Devault Drill Bit Set.

A:  Cobalt bits work very well on steel, especially if you are drilling large holes. They cost more but work much better.

A:  Slow and easy, Use cutting oil if you have it, or a light machine oil. Start of with a smaller bit and work you way up to the desired hole diameter, These bits are great but do not overheat them. Use caution and wear eye protection.
