Answer This Question
A: The faceplate on the 4in by 10in register will cover 5.45in x 11.45in. If that's not enough, the 4in by 12in will cover 5.45in x 13.45in, but the damper box may not fit the opening. For more info, check out the size guide in the product photos above.

Q:Rust free?

Answer This Question
A: The rust-free claim is referring to the damper box. A common issue with traditional floor registers is the damper box gets rusty and seizes up. Decor Grates has a plastic damper box to avoid this issue. The faceplate of the register is made of steel.

Answer This Question
A: The faceplate of the floor register is solid steel, so a magnetic cover should work. These Decor Grates floor registers come with a sliding style damper box to give you the ability to open and close your register. No need for a magnetic cover.

A: You could use some thin (1/8-inch or less) foam tape around the part that goes in the hole. As long as the decorative top covers the rest of the hole. I hope this helps.

Answer This Question
A: I have 10 of these throughout the house and have ZERO clicking or any other sound coming through them. I can't imagine any vent causing a clicking sound as only air passes through them. Have you tried taking off the vents to see if the sound persists? Could you have animals like mice living in your vent system? Regardless, it sounds more like something within your vents then the covers.

A: Do you have a window with blinds above the vent? The blinds may be clicking against the window frame because of the air flow. I have that in my house so I attached narrow weatherstripping on my frame right where the blinds contact it. No more clicking.
