A:  The acrylic backwalls that come with this unit are 3 separate panels that are thin and lightweight so that they can be easily trimmed to fit your space without the use of any special tools. Please note that the QWALL acrylic wall panels must be glued to backer board after they are trimmed to fit your space and that this product is not for direct-to-stud installation. A:  The shower base model you are currently viewing (DLT-1132320) is a single threshold shower base which is for alcove installation only (3 walls, 1 threshold). This shower base cannot be installed into a corner as doing this will compromise the product and completely void the warranty. What you will need for corner installation is a double threshold shower base (2 walls, 2 thresholds). DreamLine offers a 32x32" double threshold shower base - model # DLT-1032320. A:  Unfortunately, you cannot use a DreamLine SlimLine single threshold shower base for any application other than alcove installation, which means that you must have 3 walls surrounding the shower base. Any installation of a DreamLine SlimLine shower base that goes outside of the shower base's intended purpose will completely void the warranty and will compromise the product. The type of installation you are describing will likely lead to damage to the shower base that will cause serious leaking and possible severe water damage in your home. Please do not install any DreamLine shower base in any way that goes outside of the instructions provided in the manual and please do not use a DreamLine shower base in any way other than what it is designed and intended for. A:  This kit includes a shower base and an acrylic backwall kit. The shower base must be installed directly up against studs and cannot be installed against tile or drywall. Once the base is installed, you will put up 1/2" thick backer board, and after this, you will trim the acrylic walls to size and glue them to the backer board. If you wanted to purchase an acrylic wall kit without a shower base, you would want to get the QWALL-VS product we offer (model # SHBW-1541760-00) - this product can be glued over existing tiles. Most of the products on the market like this will say the words "tub surround adhesive" on the packaging. A:  Make a 2 x 4 frame with studs every 18 or so. Drill holes through the studs for the plumbing to run thru, fasten the base to the 'platform', then finish your walls as usual. It may be a wee bit higher than normal, but it works.

Once you have trimmed your acrylic walls to fit your opening, you will want to use an acrylic-safe construction-grade adhesive to glue the acrylic walls to your backer board.
