A:  This is "not" a light-weight shovel. It says it is 6 lbs. I am also a senior and am a 5'2" woman, but I don't have any back troubles. I have no problem using it.

A:  Don’t get this shovel! It’s a good brand and judging by comments good quality. But if you’re a senior with a bad back, it’ll break you before you break it! Trust me I know - I’m a small sturdy (and determined!) 67 year old who’s been digging own holes for over 20 years. Get the Eagle brand shovel for 7.98 - great price and only weighs 3 pounds!

A:  Weighs about 6 pounds according to my bathroom scale. Dunno how bad your back is, but this is a solid metal shovel. It does some heavy duty work. Heavier shovel makes for easier digging.

A:  I snapped the head of the shovel right off they replaced it no questions asked just emailed them a pic and got a new one sent out in a couple of days. I would wager that if anything breaks on this shovel they will replace it

A:  Yes. I own two shovels and managed to break them with a split through the blade and the other at the neck. Both were replaced. Just use their website and submit a picture and when purchased. There was not cost even for shipping.

A:  Fiskars is a Finnish company (Finland) just like Nokia. And yes this maybe manufactured in China and so does a lot of US companies.
