Q:Why is the water from the door coming out room temp? Shouldn’t it be chilled?
by|Apr 28, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: It's common for the water dispenser to initially dispense water at room temperature when the refrigerator is first installed. Please allow at least 24 hours for the refrigerator to cool down completely. If the issue persists, check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers and ensure that the dispenser has had at least 30 minutes to cool the new water in the tank. It can also happen when the water dispenser has not been used for a long time, in which case you should dispense water until all water in the system is replenished. If these tips don’t help, we recommend scheduling service online by visiting the GE Appliances website or by calling 833-426-3393 M-F 8AM-8PM ET, Sat-Sun: Closed.

Q:Ice maker has been working properly until yesterday. It will no longer dispense ice, either crushed or cubed. I took out the ice maker and emptied it, there is still ice in the chute, but it still won't dispense. Is there something else to try?
by|Apr 14, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: If there are ice cubes stuck in the icemaker, turn off the icemaker, remove cubes, and turn
the icemaker back on. Sometimes a small mound of frost, snow, or ice will form on the door or flap in the ice chute. This condition is usually normal and typically occurs when you have dispensed crushed ice repeatedly; it will eventually evaporate. You can clean frost from the dispenser chute by using a warm damp sponge. If you are continuously seeing frost, operate the dispenser with the door open and the ice bucket out to see if the flap is closing all the way. If not, you will want to have the dispenser checked by a service technician. If these tips don’t help, service may be needed. You can schedule service online by visiting the GE Appliances website or by calling 1-800-432-2737.
