Q:Is this breaker sufficient for 3 phase outlets (I.e. washer, dryer, etc.)?

A:  Yes

A:  This question is a little confusing. A three phase breaker would have three poles, not two. If you are using this for a 240volt residential type dryer or water heater then this will work.

A:  We only recommend using GE breakers in GE load centers for UL purposes. Our breakers are designed for use in our load centers and meter sockets.

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, THQL is the series type. The 2130 indicates this is a 2 pole 30 amp breaker. As a THQL115 would be a single pole 15 amp type.

A:  Uhhhhh....I split a big 50amp wire into two circuits for two outlets for a 50amp welder and a 30amp compressor-they aren't used at the same time. I got the load center panel at the Home Depot and right next to it I got the fat double 30amp breaker and a fat double 50amp breaker both made by GE. Everything fits and works fine-I love it. I don't understand panel speak-I wired it up all pretty and got the accessory ground bar. I didn't sink or bind the extra ground screw to the panel box because the big 50amp wire I split came from a grounded main panel. I set my panel up like a load center-which is what I got from GE.

A:  This is the proper 2 pole 30A breaker for this panel. Thanks for the question.

              by|Mar 13, 2021

A:  Yes it will work, THQL is a breaker type that fits a specific Circuit Breaker Box (GE uses this as their generic Breaker Box). It has a certain type of connectors on the breaker to clamp on to the fittings in the Box itself. There are 2 rows of breaker connections, one for each side of the 240 Volt AC Buss. The '2130' following the THQL designates a particular type of breaker for a specific use. The 2130 is a dual breaker (for 240 Volt use) and both parts/sides of the dual breaker are rated at 30 Amps. This is a typical breaker used for Dryers, Water Heaters, and any 240 Volt 30 Amp load AC item that has heater or light bulb and Coil Heater types of loads. There several types of Breaker types, this one is a 'Resistive' Load Breaker. TURN OFF YOUR MAIN POWER BEFORE OPENING UP THE BREAKER BOX TO INSERT ANY NEW BREAKERS OR CONNECT THEM TO WIRES! IF YOU DO NOT YOU MAY GET SHOCKED AND COULD BE KILLED! If you go to this link you will see the technical specifications for this THQL 2130 breaker... https://www.galco.com/buy/GE-General-Electric/THQL2130?utm_source=adwords&utm_campaign=Dynamic_Search_Ads_-_G

Q:I'm pretty sure this will fit a GE TM2020MUF meter socket load center but it's super difficult to get that answer directly so I thought I'd ask here. The label on the panel says to use only GE breakers of certain types and a THQL type is listed, which I believe this is by the model #. But like I said, finding literature that speaks directly to this in difficult - thanks in advance for your help

Q:Is the rated at 75c when using CU wire? If so would 2AWG copper be correct for a 100amp sub load center?

                  Answer This Question

A:  The type of sheathing on the wire will cause the rating to vary. I would suggest searching for ampacity charts online and fine the specific wire you are looking for and it will give you the proper size for 100 amp capacity or check with a local certified electrician. Thanks for the question.
