A: Yes. It is all natural. Made from worm casings (poop). You can handle it without gloves. You could roll around in it if you wanted.

A: I used this with a spreader. It is safe to handle but if you have any concerns, wear gloves.

A: It's made from wastewater biosolids, so you should probably wear gloves.

Q:Does it need to be watered in?

Answer This Question
A: No it does not because it will not burn your lawn like most of the other types of fertilizer. And if you have pets, it is safe for them to be in the yard when you fertilize because it is organic.

A: Yes, this still needs to be watered in.
by|Jul 29, 2019
A: Yes, it is fertilizer, so you need to get it in the soil by watering, but it is just worm casings (poop) so it won't burn your grass if you don't water it a lot.

A: It is probably a good idea to water it for quicker results , but not entirely necessary as it is slow release and organic. Here in rainy Pittsburgh, I just listen to the weather forecast and apply right before it rains.

Answer This Question
A: This product does not smell as bad as Milorganite. Milorganite smells like someone's rotten cesspool is being pumped - and you're standing in it for a week or 2. But what should I have expected? It's made from Milwaukee's raw sewage.

Q:Can you use this fertilizer on centipede?
by|Apr 22, 2019

Answer This Question
A: This is not an insecticide.
by|May 30, 2019
A: I'm assuming you mean centipede grass, not the insect. I believe you can use this fertilizer on both. It is made from worm casings (poop). Safe for everyone. It just doesn't work as well as good old chemicals. It depends on your priorities. Do you want safe and weak performance or great performance with chemicals.

Q:Is this fertilizer pet friendly? (safe for pets)

Answer This Question
A: Yes, it is made from worm casings (poop). That part is great but the bad part is that it doesn't work. I applied the recommended amount and waited and waited but nothing happened. So, I double the recommended amount and finally saw some greening and growth. Went back to a name brand fertilizer and boom, green lawn. Unfortunately, nothing beats the chemicals for healthy green lawns.

A: Yes, this is pet friendly. My cats go out on the grass after I put it down and have never had a problem. I have used the product 2 - 3 times a year for the past 2 - 3 years or so.

A: Yes it is. This fertilizer is totally organic and is safe for pets to be around, even during spreading. My dog likes to chase the tractor as I spread it and try to catch some of the pellets. Our vet told us that it will not hurt her and it hasn't. The newness has worn off and she does not do that any more.

Answer This Question
A: Yes. I put it down 2 - 3 weeks before I seed, then throw down a thin layer of top soil to cover the seed. Works like a charm so far. Seed germinates and grows beautifully. My problem is I don't yet know how to keep it alive!!

A: Definitely. I put this down 2 - 3 weeks before I seed. Works perfectly!

Answer This Question
A: It has to be mixed with the soil at a controlled rate for plants (Ph-balance is the key), therefore applying it to lawn is not recommended (or applicable).
by|Sep 11, 2020
A: Yes,this is harmful to water sources as it increases the nitrogen content if it gets into the lake and encourages excessive algae growth.

A: I have used this fertilizer on a Zeon Zoysia and Bermuda grass for two years in a row. The results are fantastic. My lawn is green, lush and the soil looks very healthy. I hope this will help.
by|Oct 29, 2020
A: I am not an expert, but since it is organic and safe for my pets, I would assume it to be safe for the lake, also.
by|Jul 8, 2020
A: This would be fine for a cottage lawn but if runoff into the lake from heavy rain/flooding/snow melt carry nitrogen residue into the lake this could create a problem.
The basics of nutrient pollution are simple enough. Nitrogen and phosphorus occur naturally in soil and water and, with respect to nitrogen, in the air we breathe. They also are added to the environment by humans, principally as fertilizers. These fertilizers enhance the growth not just of crops on land but also of algae and aquatic plants in the waters where they end up.2 ( cited from below )
