A: David,
HDHRQBCTIB-48, is made out of Rubberwood or Hevea and uses black wall brackets. 5420QBWHUB-48, is made out of Birch and uses white wall brackets. Both are finished in a UV coat to protect your workbench, folding countertop from the elements.

Answer This Question
A: Sure, it’ll function, but instead of using the brackets as support and spreading the load through the wall you are just using the threads of like 8 bolt to hold the table up. Plus the brackets are ugly.

A: I’d say No. The way that it locks into position when down. There is a notch in the support arm. So I don’t think you’d be able to lock it into them. When upside down the only thing holding the table top would be 4 difficult to screw in wood screws.

A: I don`t think it can be mounted the opposite way. The butcher block is kind of heavy and has no soft closing feature. You have to lift it a bit when closing down, and there is a release button.

A: It only latches in the "up" position shown. If you reverse it, it will not latch in the folded up position.

A: No this wouldn’t work… that’s actually how I wanted to install mine, but the brackets use gravity to lock in.

A: Yes and no. It is possible but you will need some kind of locking device to keep the shelf folded up. Otherwise it will simply fall into the open position. Hope this helps.

Q:can it be cut to a different length?
by|Nov 17, 2021

Answer This Question
A: RodLe,
This can be cut, the only reason this is not recommended is because the UV Stain is a thick coat and very hard to mimic on the raw side you decide to cut. Due to the hardness it tends to chip when being cut. We recommend purchasing a raw piece, cutting it to size, sanding the sharp edge where it was cut and then sealing it with the finish of your choice for the best result in your project.

Q:Can I use this as a countertop without using the brackets at all? Can the brackets be removed from yhe wood block?
by|Nov 16, 2021

Answer This Question
A: Isadorael,
The brackets do not come attached to the piece. So yes this can be used for other purposes other than a fold out countertop. Everything is strength rated together, so be sure if you do intend to use the brackets elsewhere that you are careful with the amount of weight or the size of the object you are applying them to.
Hope this helped with your project!--Thank you, Hardwood Reflections

Q:Can I get the finish you use to stain an unfinished Hevea countertop to match?

Answer This Question
A: PeterB,
If you have a spot that you are wanting to touch up, spraying polyurethane lightly across the area has worked for other customers. However, the UV treatment can not be duplicated at home. UV lighting is used in this process and the finish used is an industrial brand and cannot be purchased in stores.
