A:  Replace the exist. filter with the same exact dimensions as the replacement filter (albeit different MERV) in the same configuration as how the exist. filter was installed & positioning the filter according to the air flow direction.

    A:  Hi rlmercad, thank you for your question. You will just have to make sure that the actual dimensions are the same. The actual dimensions of this filter are: 19.94 x 24.88 x 4.38 in. - Maria

      A:  MERV 11 to MERV 12 will work fine. I would not recommend going from, say, MERV 6 to MERV 12. If a system was designed with MERV 6 in mind, a MERV 12 filter will restrict airflow too much resulting in reduced heating/cooling capacity.
