Q:Does this unit need batteries?

A:  This model requires a c-wire which is a direct wire from the hvac unit. It does not use batteries. If you don't have a c-wire you can run one from your unit. Consult your hvac system to see if it has it or contact a professional.

      A:  Not sure if my pictures can be shown, but basically, my old thermostat has W, Rh, G and Y directly connected via wire from the inside wall and there is a jumper wire between Rh and Rc. Will this new wifi thermostat work to replace my old one? Thank you!
