I only have 4 Ethernet data ports in my house but 7 separate cat5e cables in my junction box. Will this tool allow me to locate the terminations of the “extra” 3 cables inside the walls if they aren’t connected to anything?

Answer This Question
No, you have to have access to both ends of the line and does a test on jack connections. You would need a wire toner to trace a wire to find its physical location

Hello yes using the remote you shoukd be able to figure out which wires feeds those outlets. FYI each end of the cable need to have a connector on them to test the lines good luck Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com
