            Q:Does this faucet protect the user from scalding? If the toilet flushes, is there any internal system to keep the water temperature tolerable? Our inspector rejected a previous faucet that did not meet ASSE scalding protection guidelines.

            A:  The faucets are certified to ASME A112.18.1, but not to ASSE 1016. For retail, we use a regular cartridge instead of a pressure balance (P/B) one; this is common to retail models. For the faucet to be compliant, a thermostatic mixing valve needs to be installed under the faucet. For the wholesale market, we include a P/B cartridge to save plumbers the extra cost of labor and thermo mixing valve. If you wish to have a ASSE compliant floormount faucet, you can choose between the AXO45CP, SOU45CP, KAR45CP.
