A:  Hi Anne. How quiet or how loud something is, is subjective. What may be loud to one person may not be loud to another, so products have decibel ratings that you can use to compare to decibel ratings on a decibel chart of common sounds that you are familiar with to assess a specific product will be quiet or loud to you. The specifications for the LG 8,000 BTU 115-Volt Window Air Conditioner LW8016ER with ENERGY STAR and Remote in White on its product detail page on The Home Depot list this air conditioner as having a decibel rating of 54 dBA. You can find numerous decibel charts online that you can review to see what common sound that 54 dBA decibel rating is equivalent to...^Ivan

Q:Is this the same as model LW1022IVSM, only 8000 BTU instead of 10000? I have that model in my living room and like it a lot. Would like to get the same unit but with the lower BTU for my bedroom, which is smaller than the living room.

              Answer This Question

A:  Hey there, Jane. It would depend on how big your room is in square feet. For the 8000 BTU, it would cool and average of 200 sq. ft. For a 10000 BTU, it would cool a 300 sq. ft room. ~Anthony

                Answer This Question

A:  Hi Bruce. 'Freon' is the brand name for the refrigerants R-12, R-13B1, R-22, R-410A, R-502, and R-503 manufactured by The Chemours Company. On January 1, 2020 Freon was banned by The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) because it damaged the ozone layer. R-22 was used in nearly all cooling devices at the time of the ban, so it was eliminated with a step-by-step phase-out. This LG 8,000 BTU 115-Volt Window Air Conditioner LW8016ER with ENERGY STAR and Remote in White uses R-32 refrigerant which replaced R-22 because it has very low GWP compared to R-22...^Ivan

Q:How do you remove the front panel, that is covering the filter. It moved because of the heavy wire, giving a rattling sound. When I press it the sound disappears. I figured it got loose, and the fan is moving the filter, and that is moving the front panel
