A:  I'm not sure about a steam shower, it has held up through regular showers. As to the finish, my understanding is that is is unfinished cedar; it can be lightly sanded if needed.

A:  Mine does not. I had it installed professionally. It is attached at the top and bottom of the back brace, which I think would be required for stability. If it was attached to wall only at the seat, I don't think it could handle the weight limit. You could squirt a cleaning agent down the wall behind it and maybe use a bottle brush. I live in dry climate, so not much of a problem.

A:  I don't understand your question? In addition, my contractor who installed the chair has since died and I cannot refer to him. I can say that the chair was installed according the instructions and recommendation of the product supplier as my contractor was a stickler for doing the job perfect. Personally, I rarely use the seat but at the time I was having some health challenges that caused me to look forward when I will need it and the assurance of knowing it is there has made me very pleased with the chair. Sorry I was not able to answer your question directly.
