A:  Would nor recommend that unless you use a wire mesh and stucco to give the stones a good place to grip and to add strength to handle the weight.

Q:Several have commented it can be applied to drywall but you obviously can't apply mortar directly to drywall, what is the installation process on drywall?

            Answer This Question

A:  First you want to use galvanized fasteners, ie a cement board screw, to the wall to reinforce  the strength of the drywall to the studs. Second do not use mortar, use a modified tile adhesive. They have glue mixed it mortar for a much stronger bond. Often times I use large format tile adhesive, which is white, but I will mix in a little bit of grey unmodified to darken the color so you do not see white in the cracks. You can either apply with a large tile trowel or fill the back with a small margin trowel in what is called a “slump method” to create suction cup.

Q:I ordered three pallets for a project. All the panels have visible glue on the face between some of the rock segments. Is this normal? Seams like a premium product like this should be better? Am I missing something?

                  Answer This Question

A:  The product is very thin with a lot of exposed glue. Much lesser quality than other ledger panels we've used in the past. On large projects you don't notice the visible glue, but I wouldn't use it on my personal residence.

                  by|Nov 18, 2022

A:  I had a little glue on one or two but that’s it. You might want to check with the manufacturer and see if they had problems with that lot.

A:  Premium product? This is low cost entry level stacked stone, made in a factory where the workers make a few dollars a day. For the cost it looks amazing, if some of the glue bothers you scrape or clean it

A:  Unfortunately this is common with this product. There's not much quality control on the manufacturing side. The glue will come off pretty easily if you use a, razor blade and carefully slide it under the glue edges.

Please note the one you are looking for ihe pallet tile, However please find the below regular tilw which comes in 5 pieces per case and covers approximately 2.5 sq/ft per case, and to cover 141 sq ft/ft - 57 cases are required. And It is recommended you purchase a minimum of 10% overage to account for design cuts and patterns. Good luck with your project "

A:  Each tile is 1 sqf. So, you will need 141 + 15% = 163 tiles. In my case each box brought 10 tiles (10 sqf). You will need 17 boxes. If you will install outdoor I suggest to use the glue , not the cement.

A:  There are 6 pieces in a box. 6 sq ft per box. 10 boxes per pallet = 60 sq ft. You will need 24 boxes.

A:  They all interlock. Use a tile saw. This stuff is very easy to install if you have done any sort of tile work before. It is fragile and I bout it by a pallet because it was cheaper. Love the look

A:  I did it and I'm just a DIY homeowner; start at bottom and work up. Place the corners, then match a panel the the corner, where the the panel meets the next corner piece use stone cutter to match the corner cut. It's simple!

A:  You can use mortar if you want.. I used construction adhesive to glue it to duralock backer board for my outdoor kitchen.. 2 years still holding strong. Mortar is a little bit more of a mess and an art. No issues with construction adhesive in the upstate NY extreme weather conditions after 2 years. So yes you need something to adhere it to the wall, concrete, or backer board.

A:  This product is slate, which makes tiles that are on the heavier side. I would only recommend installing them with large format thinset or veneer mortar. For a homeowner, I recommend the thinset (tile mortar) as it is has polymers that adhere better, and keep things in place. If you are hanging them outdoors, check the product’s specs for “outdoor use”

A:  No, I don’t believe so. Unless you find a way to seal it. It is also very irregular and you don’t grout it, so water, soap etc. would sit on it and get between panels. It will be impossible to clean too.
