          A:  Yes you can cut through a tree root with the proper blade. Wear saftey goggles as dirt may fly everywhere.

However this tool is powered by a 12 AMP motor with electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load. With a durable body design that keeps dust and debris away from the motor, with rubber and felt seals to keep dust and water out for a longer tool life.

                A:  Hi NIck, It's not brushless but I've never had an issue with overheating or performance while using it over a long period of time in one setting. While I do perfer BL motors, this tool works well.

                A:  Thank you for your question on the JR3051T this tool is Tool-less" blade change for fast blade installation and removal this does have an adjustable shoe . Its the red button on its side.

                        A:  Sure it has a clutch to hold the saw blade (just read manual). If the vibrator still working but blade is not reciprocating, you need to reattach the blade. If there is no vibration, probably you have to check and change graphite brushes (under black covers with the slot for the straight screwdriver after the brand name "MAKITA"), again, read the manual.
