A: Dear cne32507,
Thank you for your question. We cannot guarantee the outcome of this solution, as we do not recommend modifying the unit or using it in anyway not directed in the manual.

A: No
by|May 6, 2022
A: As long as the timer can handle the 1500 watts of current draw it should work. That would be in the range of a 12-15 amp capable timer. Intermatic timers may be in that range

Q:Can this smoker smoke beef jerky as well as a brisket or a rack of ribs

Answer This Question
A: Dear Johnnys,
Thank you for your question. This unit can hold 3 chickens, 2 turkeys, 3 pork butts, or 3 racks of ribs. When smoking cheese, fish, bacon, and jerky, we do recommend using the slow smoker. The slow smoker easily attaches to Masterbuilt Digital Electric Smokers via the side wood chip loader, and would not be compatible with this unit.

A: Off hand I would say yes, it’s really roomy and gets to 475 degrees but to be honest,
I use it as a Powder Coat oven for large metal parts rather than paint them, it’s great for that.

Q:How often must you add wood chips?
by|Feb 5, 2022

Answer This Question
A: It depends on a few things. The size of the chips, are they wet or dry, how high you set the thermostat, how full you pack the pan, etc., etc. For me, loosely packed chips will last a couple of hours at about 200 - 250. A full pan of pistachio shells will smoke for several hours at 275 - 300. Again, this is just my experience.

A: Every couple of hours
by|Feb 8, 2022
A: It really just depends on the temperature you have it set at. I’ve noticed for a higher temperature it’s about every ten minutes because it burns faster unless you constantly are adding water to keep the steam flowing.

A: Just fill the pan with water-soaked wood chips and it will smoke for about four hours without having to replace.

A: I use mine as a large powder coat oven so I can’t answer your question since all I use is electricity to heat it with. I can tell you it heats to over 150 degrees.

A: I've never tried chunks, the tray isn't really big enough for chunks.. I use the coarse chips and they work fine. I imagine the sawdust would work quite well too.
by|Dec 29, 2021
A: Dear JayD,
Thank you for your question. Wood chips must be used in order to produce smoke and create the smoke flavor. Never use more than 1 cup of wood chips at a time. Never use wood chunks.
