A: Hi! For our Kings Rombos, we recommend using at least a 3/16” grout line to accommodate any variation in size or the subsurface and to allow for movement. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

A: 1/8-inch is typical for floor tiles over 8"x8".

Q:Since these tiles come with a shallow grout line already in place, are these lines intended to be grouted as well? I'm confused because the look of the tile seems to be antiqued and rustic with the terra cotta color coming through the "faux grout". My tile guy says he needs to score the grout lines deeper so that the grout will stay in place. I had imagine that this part of the tile would not be grouted at all. So now I don't know how to deal with the tile. Its for the floor and will go into the shower floor.

A: Hi Mammayes
Grouting the tiles is really up to you. You can choose not to, and maintain the rustic appearance, or you can go ahead and apply grouting per your tile installer's requirements. In your situation, you would probably want to apply grout as the location will be wet and you don't want moisture seeping through to the subflooring.

A: That part of the tile does not need to be grouted.

A: Hi! For our Kings Rombos, the scored grout lines can be grouted with the color of your choice, or left ungrouted for a rugged finish. This product does not require modification to properly hold grout. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

A: I used in our Laundry/mud room floor- I LOVE the pattern. For the wall, I can’t say (something that is fire retardant) but you might want these in hand if trying to match.

A: It depends. I wish Home Depot had a feature where one could see how different grout colors look with it. I like the dark terracotta grout because we have a room with dark woodwork, so it blends a bit more easily, and I feel it softens the stark black and white. If there is no other brown in the room then the charcoal grout recommended would look best. Considering the expense of tile, I wish a grout color feature where one could see online would be added.

A: I used black grout for our floor.

A: Hi, Stu! For our Kings Rombos, we recommend using #60 Charcoal. It is important to note that grout color is a personal preference and can greatly impact the overall look of an installation. Also, the scored lines can be grouted so they are not required to match the terra cotta color. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652.

Q:What is the minimal spacer I can use for the grout line with floor application of these tiles?

Answer This Question
A: Hi MrsBWell,
We would recommend using either a 3/16” or a 1/4” grout line. We always recommend using Custom Building Product installation materials, and they offer tile spacers in a 3/16” size https://thd.co/2HeIAtU and a 1/4” size https://thd.co/2Hk5O4Y. As our Kings Rombos isn’t rectified, we wouldn’t recommend using a smaller grout joint. Having a rectified tile means that the edges have been ground down for precise sizing. Tile tends to expand and contract, if the grout joints are too small it can cause damage to the installation such as cracking.

Q:Are you able to score the tile into individual pieces? I would be interested in separating each piece to create triangular patterns as opposed to the large square/diamond but unsure as to how that would affect the already spaced design. Thanks!

A: Yes, this can be cut.

A: Hi VZ,
Yes, you can absolutely separate the squares of our Kings Rombos so you can make your own pattern! As there are already scored grout lines on the tiles, you can use them as guides for where you want to cut the tiles. To be able to accomplish this, we would suggest using a wet saw with a diamond-tipped blade. We always recommend the use of a wet saw as it offers the best cut with the least chance of breakage. After you finish cutting the tiles, you might want to sand the edges to smooth them down as they have the potential to be very sharp.

A: Hi Amanda,
Due to overwhelming popularity, our Kings Rombos item has temporarily sold out. We are expecting to receive a shipment during the week of March 23rd, 2018! Once the shipment arrives and passes through our standard quality control procedures, our Kings Rombos will show as available for purchase on HomeDepot.com within 48 hours. Keep checking back to see when it becomes available to place an order! If you would like to receive an email notification when it becomes available for purchase again, you can provide your email address in the box titled “We’ll Deliver It to You”.
You could also place an order for this tile at any time by going to your local Home Depot store and placing a special order in the flooring department with a flooring associate. By doing so, the order will ship within 2 business days after it arrives back in stock.
If you are ordering additional material, we want to let you know that you may experience issues with dye lot and caliber consistency. When tile is manufactured at different times, the color and size may vary slightly. We always encourage ordering 15% overage of patterned tile to account for cutting, future repairs, dye lot and caliber consistency, as we cannot guarantee dye lots and caliber over multiple orders.
If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
