Answer This Question

A:  I don't know about SDS plus or max but I used it in a Bosch HD18 to go through my foundation. It will drill a 1 x 10" hole leaving ~2" in the chuck.

A:  Hi Mac 55 - this bit is not SDS Plus or SDS Max, it is meant for use in a hammer drill for concrete, block and brick material.

A:  Hi Stan, for drilling into concrete we would recommend a hammer drill or rotary hammer.

A:  5.5 inch if you are comfortable with only .5 inch in the chuck. 5.75 if you get really sketchy.

        Answer This Question

A:  No, an SDS (Slotted Drive System) drill requires SDS shank bits. This bit has a octagon impact driver shank. Good luck with your project.

A:  This is a 6" long drill pit. Not sure why they have the 4" description attached to this drill bit, All I can think it's a type-o, and should instead say 1/4", which is the shank size. Other than that, this is a 6" long bit so you can drill up to 6" deep. Good luck with your project.

A:  Seems like 4 inches is length of the actual spiral part of the drill bit. The 6 inches represent the entire length of the bit, including the shaft. Also seems like you should be able to keep drilling until the front of the drill's chuck reaches the object you are drilling into, such as a floor or wall. Since the bit goes into the drill's chuck about 1 inch that would leave you with ability to drill about a 5 inch hole. (6" minus 1")

A:  A hammer drill bit will work in a regular 1/2 inch drill, it will just take longer to drill the hole. Mike
