Q:Does the GENIUS 2, 2-Amp have repair mode?
by|Jan 8, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The GENIUS2 desulfates during both the 12V and 6V charging modes. It is one of the first few steps in the charging process, if the charger detects sulfation in the battery it will automatically start desulfating during the charge, there is nothing that you need to do to activate it. The GENIUS2 does not have a mode dedicated solely to repairing batteries, however. The 12V Repair Mode that the larger models (GENIUS5, GENIUS10, GENIUSPRO25 & GENIUSPRO50) have is an additional mode dedicated to recovering heavily sulfated, stratified, old, damaged, and/or idle 12V batteries.

Q:Is this okay to use with a small DR Trimmer Mower battery, which is 12V, 2.3 amp?

              Answer This Question

A:  I use it to charge a 12V auto battery, but the product manual states: "The product is only compatible with 6V & 12-volt Lead-Acid, AGM, and Lithium batteries." It is a 5 amp charger on 12V batteries. So if your battery is one of the above 3 types, I would say it should work.

Q:Does it come with ring terminals so that it can be permanently connected?

                  Answer This Question

A:  The Noco Genius 2 has a spring clip which is attached to the wiring via a terminal ring. They use a hex key to attach the terminal ring to the spring clip. So you can remove the wiring from the spring clips and you would be left with a terminal ring on the end of the wire. However, these terminal rings are a smaller diameter (guessing maybe close to a 1/4 inch). They do sell a separate terminal ring cable that has larger eyelets.
