Q:Can a shed, 8 by 10 feet, be placed on these pavers?

      Answer This Question

A:  I would assume that you would possible need a poured cement slab for proper support under the structure of the shed. I have had customers use the pavers indoors as the flooring to a shed but I cannot guarantee the use of them under the structural parts/weight because they have not been engineered for that.

Q:Will this support a hot tub weighing 3700 lbs on a 9'x9' pad?

          Answer This Question

A:  We have many customers use this product below hot tubs. We do not have the actual weight limit, so this is a install at your own risk because we have not tested this on our own. We can tell you the best way to use our products for this type of application. Be sure you have a compacted crushed stone base layer that is level and free of air voids below the stone (assuring that the crushed stone base layer will not move after weight is placed on top of it) Set each patio block into the layer of sand and level as you go. Use a rubber mallet (NO Compactor) to set each block by lighting tamping into place. Be sure there are no air voids between the bottom of the patio block and the sand. If there is any air/unsupported portion of a block, then there will be a chance of cracking. If you have a solid base layer below each block fully supporting, it then you will have a solid patio to place your hot tub on.

A:  Yes, you can use a water based concrete sealer on your patio to help with stains from leaves, metal furniture and/or food. The most important part is to be sure to used the gravel base and 1" of sand on top so there is free drainage material below your blocks so the rain and melting snow drains into the soil below the gravel and does not sit directly under the block. We DO NOT recommend the use of any stone dust under our patio blocks as it compacts too tightly and will hold the water and will not allow water to drain through.

A:  I put them on top of a 3" gravel base and then 1/2" to 1" of leveling sand. For 2 years now they have been fine with any joint sealant. I never did seal the surface either and they are holding up fine. You will see some chipping occur along the corners because they are heavy to handle when setting in place. I also live it Virginia,
