A: I think it would look great in a nice large pot on your patio or deck, I live in zone 7 and we get snow and ice at times but not like you experience, so I would pot it as well, but remember not to over water, roses do not like wet feet and they love the sun. I have a red rose I have had for a good five years + and I cut it back some in the fall and it has loads of blooms every year. I know you will love the color of this rose, it is such a soft orange. Beautiful rose, I hope I have helped with your question. Carole
A: Hello, this is a very good question! when searching for a plant that is good year-round in a pot it is good to go into it understanding that it is always a risk. It is also a good rule of thumb for any overwintering plant that goes into a pot is to choose one that is hardy two zones below your own. So, a zone 4 would be safe potting a plant that can be tolerant in zones 2. Unfortunately, that At Last Rose’s are only hardy in zones 5-9 which means is it will not be safe it your zone, even if planted. A rose that might do the trick is the Oso Easy Paprika Rose Shrub, it is hardy down to zone 3 and if put in a big enough pot in the right conditions it should do well over the winter. I hope this helps, if you have any more questions, feel free to contact us on our hotline (734) 654-7485 or email us at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com. Happy planting, Jade
A: Yes, you sure can. But since At Last will reach a height of about 3 feet tall and a width of 3 to 4 feet, you'll need a large pot. The minimum width for a rose buh is 18" - personally I'd got with a larger one. Put it on a plant stand or caddy that's on wheels for easy moving. I strongly recommend Miracle Gro rose soil.
A: The Proven Winners website has information on this rose as far as where as it suggests planting it. Container is listed as a possibility. This Rose is rated for zone 5-9. You live in zone 4 so this Rose would not survive in the ground all winter. A pot that is above ground gets even colder. I have googled "winterize container roses in zone 4" and there is some great advice on how to do this. It means bringing the pot into a sheltered area that stays warmer than the outdoors.
A: I think the roots would not get any longer than the plant is tall, and I believe, if I remember right, It only get about 2-3 feet tall so I do nopt think it would pose a problem but careful with the shovel when digging the hole. Good luck Carrie
A: Rose roots are not invasive to sewer lines and are generally as deep as 2 feet and a litter wider than the shrub itself so probably at most 3 feet wide.
A: Hi RSO4, The roots of At Last Rosa should not grow deep enough to potentially damage your sewer lines. Be sure to plant it 30-36 inches away from other plants or structures. If you have any other questions, feel free to call our hotline (734) 654-7485. Best regards, Amanda
A: No
A: If you're asking whether the At Last rose will have roots that deep, the answer is no. Roses won't have roots that will invade your sewer or septic lines, unless the lines are quite near the surface and they break. In that case, any shrub's roots could grow into the line and clog it.
