A: Hello, Fencing usually calls for a small gauge nail (0.099”) but as long as you are using 30 degree paper tape framing nails of size range 2"-3.5" length in diameters 0.113, 0.120 or 0.131 then you can use this tool. Thanks!

Q:What is rim shank mean
by|Jun 7, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Ring shank means there are rings or grooves on the nail to lessen the chance of it backing out.
by|Jun 14, 2022
A: Hello, Ring Shank means there is an annular (circular) deformation along the shank, typically near the point, which can increase the tensile withdrawal strength - this makes it harder for the nail to pull out. Thank you!

Q:Can you use these nails for hardie plank siding

Answer This Question
A: Hello. James Hardie siding installation instructions, along with ESR-2290 allow for the use of 6d common nails for certain face nail applications. Paslode 2 in. x 0.113-Gauge 30-Degree Galvanized Ring Shank Paper Tape Framing Nails meets size requirements of a 6d common nail, however our nail has a ring shank profile and a 6d nail is referenced as a smooth shank profile as defined in ASTM F1667. Please consult James Hardie to confirm the rings on nail are acceptable.

A: You should have no issues using the ringshank nails. Only problem would be if you have to ever remove them they are not going to pull easy.

A: As far as weather and strength yes plenty strength to hang 3/4 plywood. However not sure if there is a length code for fasteners when it comes to sheathing.

A: yes it does
by|Jan 3, 2022
A: Yes, remarkably well, there’s a little gauge on the bottom where you can decide how deep you want the nail to go. This of course changes as the battery power is low. But overall it works very well.

A: Yes that’s exactly what I use!

Q:What?s the main difference between a 21 degree versus 30 degree (obviously 9 degrees)? I been doing fences for 20 years and always shot the 30* Dewalt framing nailer, I bought a 21* today online that is being delivered and I?m not sure if I should swap it

Answer This Question
A: Hello - the main difference is the degree of the magazine angle and therefore the angle related to the nail collation. The nail collation must match the magazine angle, so if you are switching to a 21° tool, you will need to switch to 21° nails as well.
