A: Yes, this is a hot-dipped galvanized nail and will work in cedar.

A: Yes ... but not the best choice. You should be looking at stainless nails for this very outdoor application. Second choice is galvanized.

A: galvanized ring shank can be used for treated lumber and cedar. adjust the depth of the tools' nail drive in depth for the hardness of the woods. cedar is very soft.

Q:Will these nails work with a Senco framing gun for installing composite panel siding?
by|Aug 2, 2019
3 Answers
Answer This Question
A: It would depend on whether your Senco nailer is a 30 degree framing nailer. If it is then yes, the nails would work. Please check that first and only then use the nails.
by|Aug 5, 2019
A: Yes, if they use 30 degrees
by|Oct 1, 2019
A: They should if your Senco framing nailer is 30 degrees, but it’s best to use the same brand nails with your gun you use because the spacing of the nails can be slightly different which causes occasional misfire. The ring shanked nails should work fine just set the depth on your nail gun so it doesn’t sink in the material, you want the nail head flush with the material.

A: Framing nails are different from siding nails. Siding nails:
Use electro, or hot-dipped galvanized steel or aluminum roofing type nails with a diameter of 1/8″ and a nail head of 3/8″ or larger. The nails should penetrate 3/4″ into a solid wood base.
Stop by the Customer Service desk at your local Home Depot for nailing options.

A: Yes, you can use these 2-in. x 0.113 galvanized ring shank nails on your T1-11 siding.
My backyard shed/workshop has T1-11 siding on it. The crew that installed it used exactly they type of nail you described...Which is the best to use for outdoor use...That being a Galvanized, Ring shank nail.
It won't pull out, or rust.
As for the length...Although a 2-inch nail will work for 3/8-inch panels, you may want to go a size or two smaller...Either way, you picked out the perfect fastener for your project.

Q:will youre nails fit my porter cabel gun
by|Jun 12, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Depends on the model.
Porter Cable makes a 21 degree full head framing gun and a 30 degree framing nailer.
Two things you need to know to answer this question.
Does your gun use full head nails or clipped head nails? These are clipped head nails (the head isn't a complete circle).
Note that clipped head nails are not legal for building in many jurisdictions.
Second, what is the angle of the nails you gun will shoot? In some cases, it will be indicated in the model number.
My 33 degree nail gun shoots these just fine.
However, a gun needing 24 degree nails, like Stanley, won't drive them completely, and some may bend.

A: Home depot should know. Bring you gun and make sure.
by|Jun 17, 2019
A: I used these in my Porter Cable framing gun which requires 34 deg and clipped heads. These work perfect with no jams.

A: I apologize as my earlier answer may be incorrect.
Home Depot asked me to review these, so I assumed they were the ones I purchased, which had clipped heads.
The description for these indicates they are full head nails.

Q:Will this nail be good for Hardie board siding ? I am using a 20 amp Dewalt framing gun.
by|Dec 14, 2018

Answer This Question
A: Not ideal. A roofing or siding gun would be better with a bigger head. Be sure that the nail doesn't counter sink into the cement board because it will eventually fall off.
by|Dec 15, 2018
A: Yep...This fastener being Galvanized -and- Ring Shank is exactly what you need to use for your Hardie board siding.
Galvanized won't rust, and ring shank won't pull out.
Perfect fastener for your project.
