Q:Our new house has this as a drain stopper in the bathroom. The sink is clogged and I need to remove the stopper. How do I get it out? I can’t pull it. I tried twisting it and just the top came off.

              Answer This Question

A:  The Push and Seal drain assembly can be easily removed and cleaned by following the instructions below. To clean your Push & Seal drain assembly: 1. In the open position (up), unscrew the drain cap with the Pfister logo counterclockwise and pull out of drain body. 2. Flush any debris from the drain plug by running it under a stream of water. 3. Use a mild soap and soft bristle brush or sponge to remove any visible debris or sediment collected in the threads or crevices of the drain plug and flush under a stream of running water. 4. If the drain plug has calcium or sediment build-up, try soaking the drain plug in a solution mix of 50/50 water and white distilled vinegar for an hour to help loosen the build-up. If there is a lot of build-up, try soaking the drain plug in the same solution overnight and then follow steps 2 and 3. 5. Once the drain plug is clean, replace it by inserting into the drain body and threading it back in by turning it clockwise until it stops. CAUTION: Do not force or overtighten the drain plug as it may snap or break. The post that the stopper head screws onto also unscrews from the drain body. Try unscrewing the post counterclockwise to remove. If you’re having difficulty, please call our Support Team at 1-800-732-8238 for further assistance.
