Q:The anchoring cement around my railing seems to be eroding, almost like it is washing away with the rain after a few years this has happened once before and was replaced. Why does this happen? Could lye washed from adjacent rock veneer cause this?

Answer This Question
A: Many commercial anchoring cements are gypsum based, and therefore unsuitable for regular water contact. These products will erode after repeated wet/dry cycles. QUIKRETE Anchoring Cement is not gypsum based, making it suitable for exterior use and impervious to moisture once cured.

Q:I'd like to form this into a shape before it dries. Imagine molding this into an ash tray. Will this product do that? All the pictures I've seen show it being poured like a liquid, not shaped like clay.
If this product is not appropriate, is there
