Answer This Question
A: QUIKRETE Non-Shrink Precision Grout should not be used to grout pavers. This high performance product will set extremely rapidly when mixed to a pointing consistency. We recommend instead a high strength mortar for this application, like QUIKRETE Sand/Topping Mix. See package for grouting instructions.

Q:I want to fill a hole in a 8" brick basement wall from an old gas pipe (abandoned and cut off) that is the source of a modest leak. is non shrink mortar the best product for the application?
by|Jul 20, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Patching brickwork is best done using a masonry mortar if an appropriately sized brick is available. If a brick is not available, a vertical/overhead patching material like QUIKRETE Polymer Modified Structural Repair or FastSet Repair Mortar are more appropriate. These products can be built up to fill the cavity.

Answer This Question
A: QUIKRETE® Non-Shrink Precision Grout is not suitable. QUIKRETE® Sand/Topping Mix (No.1103), in conjunction with QUIKRETE® Concrete Acrylic Fortifier (No.8610) replacing half of the required water content, is the combination of products recommended for a shower pan or a mortar bed for shower base or bathtub installation. ANSI 108.1 provides application and material requirements for shower pans and bathtubs. Please consult and follow local building /plumbing code requirements.
