Q:Will this work on granite counter tops? I need to make the hole for my cooktop 1" bigger. 35x20 instead of the current 34x19.

A: We had to do the same thing to fit our refrigerator. we used the diamond cutting blade on the angle grinder. There is going to be a HUGE amount of dust. Please wear a N95 mask, gloves, and eye protection. We actually shrouded off the few feet by the granite we were cutting. When I say A LOT of dust, I am not kidding. You might also keep a water sprayer handy in case the blade and counter start getting hot. Last thing...tape off a straight line on the countertop side to avoid chipping. You can follow up with a grinding wheel after that.

A: It worked good on conctrete floor. Granite is harder an may chip so I would say go on a lower speed. There is also a lot of dust. I would look at diamond cutting blades in a saw.

Q:How to correctly install this wheel on a 4.5" grinder. Do i have to install the flange on it. If so does the flat side go on wheel surface.

Answer This Question
A: Dear Rana,
It is not necessary to use the flange. The Cup wheel should screw right onto the grinder.

A: No flange needed. I screwed mine directly onto the shaft, gave it a snug turn while pushing the shaft lock & it was secure. Worked like a champ!

Q:Not a question but a tip: I keep a couple of extra long vacuum hoses around. These are handy when working in areas where I can sit vacuum outside and remove all filters. Dust in the wind is much better than dust everywhere inside and/or cleaning filters every few minutes. Just check which way the wind is blowing.

Answer This Question
A: I think it's better to buy a dust separator and it will catch >90% of the silica before reaching the filter.
