Answer This Question

A:  You’d have to check with your local store to be sure. Most will do flooring installation.

by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes they do. However I did my own install. Sorry I cant help with more details.

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  The great thing about Home Depot is that if they sell it, they normally have someone who can also install it. So if you can find laminate flooring at home depot, then yes they will most likely have someone in that department that you can talk to about home installation.

Q:Are there coordination pieces trim transition nosing pieces to go with this product?

            Answer This Question

A:  This kit contains the pieces shown, solely as a tool to facilitate laminate flooring installation. Any coordinating or transition pieces would be purchased separately, to match your flooring choice. BTW this kit worked quite well and is definitely needed in order to properly install laminate flooring per manufacturer's design.

A:  I don't know if home depot have it that nosing pieces

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  I'm not aware of any. It includes horizontal and vertical aligning tools, and spacing device (spacers) for maintaining alignment at wall junctions.

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  There are none of the pieces you mentioned in the kit. It is a basic installation kit to align end to end and side to side with accessories to maintain wall to flooring requirements for expansion of the flooring to prevent buckling. I hope this answers your question.

A:  Not too sure what your question is here. Installing wood or laminate flooring is pretty easy as long as you put in the time to prep your area and lay out your pattern. Once you have this accomplished it is pretty easy. If you are going to do a large area then buying or renting a miter saw with a blade of 80 teeth or more would be well worth the time it saves and the end result.

A:  I bought mine more or less a year ago and was useful to install 14 box of hardwood floor.

A:  This will work with all click together laminate and engineered flooring assembly. White rubber mallet, Regular claw hammer and the right saw blade on your chop saw and you are good to go. Don't hurry the hammering and make sure your initial engagement of the two pieces is on point with the least amount of sliding as possible. Random joints. Don't keep a pattern like a brick course or with a tile job, make it look natural. 1/3 2/3 and full length it the best staggering of joints with least amount of waste. Have fun. It's quite a rewarding project for do-it-yourselfers. Start the room without baseboards and add new 5 1/4 "baseboard AFTER the flooring is done givesthe room a grand appearance and no need for 1/4 round either.

A:  My flooring was the Home Decorators Collection brand from Home Depot. It uses click-lock which must be a proprietary name like Uniclic. I can't see them being much different. If you already have your flooring, you could open the installation guide for my flooring and compare the diagrams that show the connection grooving. That might help. Also, wherever the Uniclic flooring is sold probably has a similar installation kit to compare.

A:  Yes, I think so. I went to "https://onflooring.com/uniclic-flooring" and watched the video. The materials they present in the video mirror the components of the installation kit. I would recommend you watch that video. I think the tools you asked about are ideal for installing the flooring you asked about.

You may need a hand roller to secure the end joints when connecting the planks (per manufacturer instructions) A rubber mallet is recommended to protect against damaging the joints.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. 1/4" perimeter expansion gapping is required for flooring installations. You may want to consider adding wall base and/or quarter round molding to create a more finished look to the installation.

A:  There is supposed to be a 1/8th inch gap so floor can expand and float. The base trim should cover the gaps from wall to flooring..

                                                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  If you mean, gaps that were created because of the necessary spacing by using the Installation Kit, then you need to find the matching wood trim for your flooring, which must be measured and cut to cover the gaps. Gaps may be 1/2", so a good trim example is the 3/4" inch wide Quarter Round Molding which matches, or closely matches, the name of your flooring color. Should have a miter saw to accomplish this cutting.

A:  At the install phase: There should be a gap between the wall and the floor for expansion. Don't exceed 1/4" or you will have problems when you add the trim/shoe molding. After installation phase: Increase the size of your shoe molding if you can or you might have to rip-cut a floor board piece to fill in the excessive gap.

A:  Depends on how large the gap is. You are supposed to have at least a half inch gap between your wall and the end of your wood floor to allow for expansion. This gap is usually concealed with a baseboard or on top of your regular baseboards they can install a smaller round baseboard called quarter round trim. It sounds like they install the wood floor left a gap between the wall in the floor and never put quarter round. If the gap is very large then you'll have to remove the baseboard and cut a strip of flooring (would even if it's only a half inch or three-quarter inch thick) so where you only have a half inch gap and then cover it back up with the same baseboard you removed

                                                                      by|May 4, 2023

If it is a Terrazzo floor you would be able to glue it down. It is a pretty thin laminate and is not the thickness of the sample blocks they give you at the store. Being so thin it benefits from a quality upgraded padding

I would say this no your not supposed to because it should be able to move with the floor ... however I needed to glue the last few planks in a small section to the floor not together due to the furniture puling a plank apart

A:  You can use either adhesive designed for hardwood/laminate flooring or a nailer made for installing tongue and groove flooring. some of the less expensive laminates use an underlayment and the tongue and grooves are glued, so the flooring "floats".

                                                                          by|May 4, 2023

A:  My laminate flooring is 12mm so there was no need for glue except around sink areas. Important tip for using glue. Adhesive should only be placed in between the planks and not underneath it. It is important to remember that you do not want to attach the flooring to the subfloor, but just secure the planks together. It is also advisable to apply glue along the entire top of the tongue of the first plank and then the bottom of the groove on the second plank for the best adherence. Also, be sure to use glue that is lowest in moisture.
