A:  Yes you can scroll cut with this saw.

A:  Yes but only t-blades. So, if you have older blades types they are not useful with this saw.

A:  Doubt it, unless Ryobi makes it since the "bayonet" fitting is different from all other Jig Saw blades I've ever seen.

A:  No. This type of saw is not intended for cutting wood 4 inches thick. Try a circular saw or a hand saw if you only have a few to cut.

A:  No, this will not cut a 4x4.

A:  No, it comes with a soft case

A:  Mine came with a "soft" case but it's perfectly fine for storing the saw and extra blades. It's well padded. I do not know if you can purchase a hard case for t his saw or if you would want one since the case it comes with is adequate and it's not like this is a very expensive saw anyway.

A:  Mine did not come with a hard case.

A:  It only comes with the soft case. But I am sure you could find a hard container that it would fit into, but not one that is specific to the saw. It has been a great saw very smooth cut and powerful.

A:  Hi ty. This jig saw is designed for T-shank blades only. Thanks for the question.

A:  Accepts t-shank jigsaw blades.

A:  Turn the level on the front of blade where it inserts into the housing

A:  Hi Hooch1960. To install blade: Unplug the saw. Rotate orbital adjustment knob to position 3. Rotate the rapid change blade clamp so that the slot in the blade clamp is aligned with the slot in the blade support roller. Holding the blade clamp in place, insert the saw blade as far as possible into the slot in the blade clamp body and blade support roller. Check to make sure the back of the saw blade is centered in the slot of the blade support roller and blade clamp. Release the blade clamp. Make sure the blade is securely in place. NOTE: Check that the blade is inserted fully and completely secured. Blade will lock into position when correctly installed. Do not use the tool if the blade is not installed correctly. Rotate orbital adjustment knob back to desired position. To remove blade: Unplug the saw. Allow blade to cool. Rotate the rapid change blade clamp so that the slot in the blade clamp is aligned with the slot in the blade support roller. Remove the blade. I hope this helps.

A:  It has a twist release at the point where you insert the blade.

A:  If I remember there is a tab where the blade goes in at, just twist that tab about 1/4 turn

A:  I did buy the saw and it did the necessary cuts to replace the decking on my pier. Could have used a better saw but for the price and the number of times I will need to cut this type of lumber, it was a great choice.

A:  Hello Jerry. With the correct blade length, this unit can make a cut of this type. We recommend a scrolling blade for curved cuts with 10-12 teeth per in. Hope this helps!

A:  Yes it will, but not super good. If you are looking for a perfect cutout, then probably not. I had to use it for pretty much the same use and all the cuts had a significant angle where I had to flip the board over and cut again.

A:  Yes, this saw comes with one blade.

A:  Yes it does come with a few.

A:  Mine came with 3, 2 for wood and 1 for metal. Do your yourself a favor and buy different blades. The wood blade I used didn't last very long, and all I was doing was cutting out a 4" circle for a dryer vent. Otherwise the tool worked great.
