A: Firstly it is my understanding only one element should be on at a time so if you read current to both that makes me wonder. That aside if you are pumping in 20a at 240v it has to be heating water and I wonder if it is piping. If you turn off power and feel the tank at the thermostat is it warm? If you drain some water out the bottom is it hot?

A: Push the reset on your thermostat. If that does not work, test the thermostsat to see that it has not been fried.

A: The element mount has a UNF 1.5" straight thread, 12 TPI. The thread outer diameter (OD) on this element is 1.50 in. This appears to be a specialty version among heater elements, as most heating elements use a smaller fitting.

Q:Would this work in a Kenmore Survivor, model number 449.320511 from 1994? The Kenmore part # is SP 610140, but I recently saw that that part was discontinued for a part # SP 10698 PH, which is very similar to this part number. I have looked everywhere!
