A: I am not sure if it is required with these but I do in order to keep the metal clad from potentially piercing the wire insulation.

A: Yes, unscrew them from the mc cable and reuse.

A: No not really, unless you want to waste time. They are low cost enough not to reuse.

A: I don't believe they were designed to be reusable, but you can with a little effort. You can twist the connector off the MC cable by rotating it in the opposite direction of the spiral. It is easier to cut the MC cable close to the connector because it will compress it coming out.
To get it out of a box, you can use a 3/4" copper connector (plumbing) and put it over the snap-2-it from the inside of the box to compress the snap ring.

A: Possibly, depending on how damaged it was when you removed it. I would just use new ones though, a lot of sharp metal in these.

A: If you have room, a 3/4" copper fitting (plumbing) might compress the snap ring enough to extract it.

A: I had to once and used a small flat head screw driver to put in the metal wings and spun the connector to get the one in the back.

A: Pop the tab out and work the chrome retainer off the track it lays in. Easier to do then explain.
