A: Don't but 12/2 if you're doing only lightning, buy 14/2, it is much cheaper and is more than adequate for running lightning. If you plan on running anything other than lights though you need 12/2 or 10/2 depending on what you're wiring up.

A: This is not rated for direct burial. Also, the shed may need its own ground rod. Contact an electrician if any doubts about the NEC.

A: No you cannot run Romex in wet locations and pretty much anything outside is going to be a wet location (regardless of whether or not you use conduit). Think of Romex as indoor use only.

Answer This Question
A: Yes depending on the amperage of your pump. Check your pump's amp ratings. 12awg is good for 20A. Romex is rated for 600V but amp rating determines what awg you need.

Answer This Question
A: 14/2 should never be used for anything other than lighting only! Using 14/2 for receptacles, especially anything on 20amp or more is a huge no no and you will t best damage your appliances and at worst kill everyone in the home!

A: A 20A breaker requires 12 gauge wire. This is good for runs up to 100'. Longer runs need 10 gauge. You don't want the wire to be the "circuit breaker" in the system.
