A: No, the fitting on the bottom of the fixture is made only for square posts. It's a great product, survived a hurricane with no problem.

A: I haven’t done it but don’t see why not. You could have a 4” round post or just cut a piece off a 4 X 4 to place on top- which I did a couple of places

Q:How do you go about fixing the LED lighting source in this fixture. I bought 7 of them and they are mounted on a deck in Florida where the elements are quite rough. They are less than a year old but I do not have my receipt. I replaced all the batteries.

A: I liked the added addition to the deck that I had recently installed.

A: I had one of the 20 I bought go out as well. They are inexpensive enough that I just bought a new one and kept the old one for spare parts (battery, housing, lens, etc.). Given that the LED is integrated I don't think there is a way to "change the bulb".

Q:How can you protect the Copper color to keep it from turning dark?
by|Aug 8, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: By turning dark im assuming you mean the copper finish wearing off and revealing the dark plastic it was painted on? You could try automotive clear coat but the copper wont be as shiny but if you have harsh weather then losing some shine might be worth it to last longer. You can also use Rustoleum copper spray paint for touch ups or something similar. Ultimately these are just painted plastic so depending on how harsh your weather is they only last a year or 2.

A: Hold the bottom in your left hand. Use the flat palm of your right hand. Spin your right hand counter clockwise while pressing down a little but only with your flat palm because it's only the copper cap that turns.

A: Cheryl, the top doesn't turn or twist off. The installation process is to remove the battery insulating tab on the bottom, then screw the solar post cap onto the top of a 4x4 post. Nothing else to it - the solar cell charges a battery (which is why you remove that tab), and when the solar cell sees that it's dark, it turns on the light.

A: It comes with a rechargeable battery that is charged by the solar panel. Depending on the sunlight I get anywhere from 2-12 hours on a charge.
