A: Ignazio, this model Microwave is not designed to be used stand alone. We cannot recommend installing the Microwave any different than what is listed in the Installation Instructions.

Q:Is it necessary to use the app/wi-fi features? Will the control panel work without ever connecting the microwave to wi-fi. Want to eliminate rebooting and updating problems customers seem to have.

A: We operate the unit 99% of the time from the touch panel. We use the iPad app on rare instances, mostly to show guests that we can. The main function we use the iPad app for is to turn the fan on or down or off.

A: Yes, but you do lose out on some neat features. The updating capability is not necessary, but sometimes the updates may make it work better or add capability.

A: you probably could, however, this is designed to be used over a range, it has a fan system and lights which would be rendered useless. They do make undercounter microwaves, which open like a top loading drawer, making "loading" and "unloading" much easier.

A: Hi Lynn, The microwave oven’s cooling fan, which is separate from the vent fan, automatically comes on during microwave oven operation to cool the microwave oven. It may also automatically come on and cycle on and off to cool the microwave oven’s controls while the cooktop below is being used.
