Q:How easy does dust collect on the pre filter? We have a poorly ventilated basement.

A:  Hello Jordan, the pre-filter for the Winix D360 will helo capture large particles of dust, hair and dander in no time. The carbon filter in the unit will combat any odors in the air while the true HEPA captures 99.97% of all allergens and particles as small as 0.3 microns.

      A:  Hello Alex, the Winix D360 comes with a years worth of filtration. In the box you will have the air purifier, a fine mesh pre-filter, 4 carbon filter sheets and 1 true HEPA filter!

          Q:The next model up (winix d480) shows that it has electrostatic particle attraction in the specs area. This model says it does not have that in the specs/feature area. Does this version not have the electrostatic feature?

          A:  Hello Joe, the Winix D360 and D480 models have the same filtration, the only difference between them is the room size capacity. The Winix D360 is AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) verified for rooms up to 360 square feet, where as the D480 is AHAM verified for 480 square feet.

            A:  Hello Vicki, the Winix D360 comes with 3 different filters. The fine mesh pre-filter is washable and should be cleaned or washed every 2 weeks (depending on your environment). The carbon filter should be changed every 3 months and the true HEPA every 12 months. You can lightly vacuum the true HEPA every 3 months when changing the carbon filter. The Winix D360 is equipped with a change filter indicator, so a light will come on when it is time to change the true HEPA!
