Answer This Question
A: The outside plug that you have the remote plugged into probably controls the lights also if it is controlled by a switch. Find a plug that is not switch controlled.

A: Sounds to me that your plugged in to the same circuit that controls the light?? You will need to plug your Woods switch into a separate circuit that is “hot” “(on)” all the time! You may need to have an electrician look at your situation and advise you of your options!

Q:I purchased one years ago and it has a label of CH E. This one has a label of CH F on the remote control. Are they different?

Answer This Question
A: The E and F on the remote are just the channel it transmits on. If you already have an E and you use it do not purchase another E as the remote will work both. Unless you want it to work both units then exchange it for an E. Otherwise if you want them to work independently you are fine.

A: Could be! Just so you’re using the same remote with the matching plug in unit! That would be my thought!!

Q:I am using it in my yard fish pond pump, will the photo sensor prevent it from turning on/off with the remote control?
by|Sep 23, 2019

Answer This Question
A: If it does, just put some black electrical tape over the sensor. My photo sensor quit operating a while back, but the remote still operates fine. I’ve used the electrical tape idea before and it effectively blocked the photo sensor.

A: I use mine outside, I use strictly with remote , mine does not turn on/off with a sensor.
by|Sep 25, 2019
A: I am not aware of a photo sensor in the unit. It works on infrared and should work fine as long as it is not submerged in water.

Q:Does anybody know how to get this product in frequencies other than A , B or C ? I think Woods makes this in frequencies of D and E but have never seen them on the shelves .
Do you think Home Depot would be able to help by contacting the company ?
It is a good product but I already have remotes in A , B and C .
Thanks for any help that anybody can provide .

A: You will see on the front of the fob a channel letter. This is paired with the (plug-in) receiver unit. Each unit has it's own frequency (letter) and is sold as a pair. To get different frequencies (letters) you would have to buy them that way. I bought several online at Home Depot but that went to different rooms so it didn't matter.

A: I have a D, so they go at least that far.
Unfortunately, Home Depot doesn't offer the option to choose your frequencies (I ordered mine because the item isn't stocked at local stores). The way I got mine was to order several at once and hope that the person picking the items had enough sense to select different frequencies. You may have to keep ordering and returning until you get what you want.

A: I got A, B & C when I bought 3 of the remotes. I liked them so well I ordered 6 more thru the Home Depot. These 6 came in frequencies A thru F. So I know that other frequencies other than A B C are available. You might inquire at the help desk at The Home Depot to see if they could request the other frequencies or if not then go online to the website listed on the product package. Great product!

Q:How can I order this item and choose the frequency channel? The little white dot on the item tells which channel it is on. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, etc. I need to avoid F and G (as I already use these channels).

A: Just go to your local HD or if they don't have it in stock, just call Customer Service and order through them and specify the Frequency channel you want. They may be able to help you.
by|Dec 12, 2018
A: Very good question. It took 4 attempts to finally get the vendor to ship the channel that I wanted. Not Home Depot's fault - they were troopers!!. In the current age of computers - when multiple channels are available - the customer should be able to order a specific channel if they want that!

A: Yes it will operate both receptacles at the same time If they are both within range. I prefer having different remotes "A,B,C" ,etc. to avoid turning certain receptacles on at the same time.
