A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Zep Instant Spot and Stain Remover works well on oil-based stains. Try the Zep Advanced Oxy Carpet & Upholstery Stain Remover. It's a bleach-free, color safe formula degined to remove coffee, juice, red wine, tomato sauce and more without scrubbing.

Q:Can this be used on upholstery with "S" code for cleaning?

Answer This Question
A: No. Avoid use on "S" codes surfaces such as wool, silk, cotton and microfiber. 'S" coded fibers should be spot cleaned only with a water-free dry cleaning solvent.

Q:Will this work for removing cigarette ash stains from car upholstery?

Answer This Question
A: I have used it on car upholstery and it works very well. I don't know how well ash stains will come out - ash is mostly carbon and nothing dissolves carbon - but it probably won't do any harm to the upholstery to give it a try. This is the first product I would try.

A: Yes. Test in an inconspicuous area prior to use. Shake & Spray surface. Wait one minute then blot with a damp cloth. Repeat applications may be made for heavier stains.

Q:Hello,
About 2 weeks ago, while having my car detailed, the detailer "accidentally" spilled an ENTIRE bottle of motor oil all over my trunk's carpet and on my back row. Everyone that I spoke to said that I have to purchase another carpet...I don't know where to begin with that one... Does this product remove the oil as well as the toxic odor/fumes or do you offer a more efficient product?
Many thanks in advance.

A: I would use an extraction carpet machine and several applications to breakdown and remove the oil completely. It has been effective on breaking down automotive grease spots on my white carpet.

A: While Zep Instant Spot and Stain Remover is great at removing greasy stains, we would not recommend it for what you need. It is for much smaller applications and would not give you the results you are looking for. Unfortunately, we do not have another product that we can recommend from our line to assist with the oil removal. We appreciate your inquiry.

Q:Will this remove pen ink from a leather couch?

Answer This Question
A: We would not recommend the use of the Instant Spot and Stain Remover on leather. Instead, take a look at our Zep Commercial Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. Be sure to follow the instructions on the back label for application.
