This tape sucks literally fell off the wall ! 2 inch tape on week old painted walls around the border then a second layer with the thinnest plastic sheeting taped to it ! Returned 20 minutes later and half the tape was down off the walls ! Save your money

I purchased 2 rolls of this 2093 tape for a bedroom paint project. I decided to tape up the whole bedroom the day before I planned to paint. By the next morning the tape had come unstuck in many areas. It was hanging down from places that I had to tape vertically. And along baseboards and doorways it was no longer attached. So now I've got to run to the store, buy different tape, retape the project. With this poor adhesion I can't trust it to seal out paint.

Cleaned all the surfaces and let it dry. Took my time applying the tape and 15 minutes later it was falling off. JUNK!!!

Great buy if you want to remove your paint and drywall paper in one go! Not a good option for masking.

This is no better than the Scotch blue that is standard. It did NOT seal. I am a professional furniture painter and do lots of decorative painting on furniture (e.g. stripes).

Used this in my kitchen at the bottom of my cabinets which is MDF board. The tape is too strong and ripped off the layer of paint. Now I realize they have a delicate surface tape that is pink. I saw another review that said the professional painters use regular masking tape. I may do that next time. Not going to buy this again. Can’t risk it ripping the paint off.

I actually stopped removing tape off of lvp after two days so I could leave this review! This crap is awful. I am doing my own place at the beach and am a contractor and all my Spanish and American painters never use blue tape. They use masking tape. I always thought they were being cheap but now I see why. This came off in a 1000 pieces. As soon as you think you can pull it it rips real close to the base board. This is the worst stuff I ever used.

Bought the Sharp lines tape instead of original because of paint bleed through with original. This was more money and was no different than the original. Still have paint seeping under the tape and getting paint where it’s not wanted. Don’t waste your money doesn’t work!

Don't waste your money. This tape literally doesn't stick to anything. And the 4 places it did stick, it ripped the paint off from underneath. I was painting a diamond pattern onto my floor, spent 4 hours taping the pattern out, and by the time I started painting, ALL of the edges were off the floor. See pictures. I bought 4 rolls of this stuff. Scotch has always been a name brand in my house so I didn't even think twice when I saw this tape in the store. Never again will I buy a scotch product. This project was so stressful all because of some tape that doesn't even stick. How can you sell this product?

Awful. Pretty freaking expensive too for being such crap. Doesn't stick. I taped my entire floor to paint a checkered diamond pattern. The only thing that matters in a project like this is straight lines.....tape wouldn't even stick, completely ruining my perfect corners. Don't buy.

Much more sticky than regular blue painters tape, but doesn’t function, still allowed paint to creep UP the wall under the edges on previously painted sheet rock. Also pulled the finish off my cabinets. Worked great on the tile and caulked tub areas. Removal was terrible, tensile strength of the tape was insufficient against painted edge, kept tearing along wall corners and edges. I’d have saved time with edging brush instead! Will not buy again! Not worth the extra coin! I’d like my money back!

This product and it’s fancy “Edge Lock” is a complete fraud. It simply doesn’t work. It won’t stick to a wall. The phots I include are after the second round of really pressing and rubbing it to get it to stick…and yet, peels off. It’s worthless and I’m pulling it all off and getting a refund.

Terrible product. Keep trying to give it a chance but every time it’ll peel the paint it’s placed on. Doesn’t matter how clean the surface is or amount of time is given for surfaces to dry.

Trash. Just throw your money in the trash. Or better yet, just try and use the dollar bills to mask your project. They will probably stick better.

Seems this tape has changed in quality over the years and the price is getting too high. Just got done with some closet trim and had bleed through every few inches and the tape tore about every 10-12 inches. More work and unexpected work.

I removed this about 8 hours after finishing painting the fixtures and it took color off the wall.

This tape is terrible. No clean lines and you have to score it with a utility knife after paint has completely dried. Will never buy again. The Frog tape is far better and I should have bought that instead.

Put it up on the wall and falls off just as fast. Adhesive doesn't stick to anything.

Created my own paint job for myself

Ran out of Scotch Blue Original which was working great in this room. Grabbed this without noticing the difference. I spent way too much time today going back and reaffixing this tape.

When I went to peel the tape off, it tore in multiple pieces and became extremely timely to get off but also peeled I paint off... such a waste of time and money. Paint bleeds through the tape as well. Will never ever buy this cheap useless product again. Leaves sticky residue too.

The worst painters tape ever! Was working on a special project and half way though ran out of painters tape. Quick trip to the store and grabbed this off the shelf, hoping to finish. Spent an hour placing the tape and within minutes the entire role was pealing off the wall! To clarify… Only this tape was pealing … the previous tape (purchased from a competitor) was still standing! A tremendous waste of time and money - such a disappointment! Would NOT recommend this product! Worthless!

This tape is awful. It's only good if you like to play a little game of repainting what you've already painted. It not only removed my ceiling paint but also my wall paint so I got to repaint by hand the wall paint, let it dry and then repaint the ceiling by hand. Utter waste of money, time, paint, etc. I wouldn't recommend this paint tape to an enemy. Buyer beware it will pull the paint off without fail.

First off, I started using Blue Tape when it was actually 2.0" wide and I was working for a paint contractor in H.S. and college (1987-1995). The formulas have changed and 2093 was purchased to be dual use (sharp lines and hold painters plastic while working). 2090 was changed too, as the width, the base material and adhesives are not what they used to be, but that is now what motivated me to write a review. This stuff - 2093 - doesn't stick to anything, not even the adhesive side of itself. I am attempting to put up plastic walls for dust containment during demo and everything is falling off the walls and ceiling. I even tried to "T" tape the plastic to the ceiling and it does not have the adhesive strength to hold anything up. Very frustrating. The reason I paid the premium for Blue is because it does not harm the finishes you put it on. In this case, 2093 doesn't stick to the wall long enough to damage a surface, and it DOES NOT stick long enough for you to be able to use it as TAPE. The photos show how the tape just curls off of what it is attached to and the tape that is adhesive side to adhesive side (at the ceiling) is just peeling and curling. Not working ad advertised.

I needed to paint the baseboards along my stairs. I wanted to protect my nice hardwood stairs so I opted for the more expensive ScotchBlue Sharp Lines Painters tape. I thoroughly taped off the entire set of stairs, and had two coats of paint on the baseboards in the next 48 hours. I was extremely disappointed to find out that on nearly every step the tape failed, and paint leaked through on to the stairs. What should have been a very easy cleanup of simply removing the tape has turned into nearly 6 hours on my hands and knees trying to remove the paint from the hardwood stairs. Do not waste your money on this product. I have never had a problem with the normal ScotchBlue painters tape, but the sharp lines version is a huge waste of money and time.
