The drop off was easy, however I am very nervous about the quality of the dirt for gardening. I don’t know enough about dirt yet as I have not had a garden this size before, but this arrived a very light brown and chunky/rocky. I guess time will tell if it grows anything or I have to attempt to add amendments to the soil. Unless you know a lot about soil I would do ample research before buying.

Soil was not as good as expected. For the northern Virginia delivery area, my 5 cubic meters of "garden soil" had some rocks, parts of broken glass, debris, trash, and twig bits and weeds. The soil is much too dense for a good garden bed. Really expected higher quality garden soil. But I liked that I could order in bulk and it was cheaper than bags. The delivery was very smooth and easy to schedule. The delivery driver did a great job of unloading exactly where I requested and was quick!

The whole experience was extremely seamless. The scheduling of the delivery was organized and came on time. The driver was very helpful and polite. The blend had very little debris and is perfect for the raised garden beds we were filling. I would definitely purchase from Home Depot again if they continue to use this local supplier.

I was admittedly a bit reluctant reading the other reviews, but since the garden soil is locally sourced, I took a shot and I am so glad I did. I am not an expert and just a beginning Gardner, but I consider what we received to be a great mix of compost, manure and mulch. It was efficiently delivered by knowledgeable woman driver (GO WOMEN!)! Overall, GREAT experience! Looking forward to our purchase of mulch next.

The product just makes me want to cry. In the picture it shows wood chippy material... that is what you get when you buy "garden soil.' What I got delivered was a lot of sand mixed with some top soil and a few clumps of this Victorian clay (i really despise Victorian clay- nasty stuff). Mostly it is made up of materials that I work hard to throw away in my trashcan every week. I will say the company is nice, kind, helpful... but the product is extremely disappointing. My dreams of having a giant pile of garden soil in my drive way are so crushed. I guess the only way to get garden soil is to buy it buy the bag. Or just order bulk wood chips and wait for it to decompose. Take into consideration that it is regional so you will be getting what ever "soil" is native to your area. If you live in an area with lots of trees you will get good woody soil and if you live in South Texas... you will literally get a load of sand taken from the beach mixed with some nasty victorian clay and some top soil. One of the most crushing disappointing experiences of my life because now I am stuck with it in my drive way. I feel like just crying rivers.

Folks the soil is good however the delivery was terrible. I have 3 boxes that are 2' tall x 4' wide x 10' long. That calcs out to 2.96 cyd each times 3 = 8.89 cyd My boxes were filled to the top so clearly they sent me more than 5 yards. I moved my new truck out so driver could go into drive way and drop the load into the grass. I explained it to him, he shook his head he understood, but he said he didn’t understand English. He dumped most into the street. ugh My next door neighbor is a deputy sheriff and when he started walking towards me I explained I would get people to move it following day.. So the soil is good but you could have challenges with delivery..

Received very good quality garden soil and all cover my back yard project.

Delivery went very good. Dirt seems good quality. Keep in mind that your mileage may vary as Home Depot partners with local groups for this service but mine went great in MN

The time between ordering and the delivery was quick. They left the dirt where I requested and the delivery was on time. The dirt was good quality. I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommended the product.

The garden soil that we got is really rich and healthy-looking. The delivery set-up was easy - all by text/email. The delivery itself was on-time, quick, and simple! Love it!

Process was extremely easy and well organized. Drivers even communicated ahead of delivery and stopped to ask before dumping. Noticed immediate results in my garden and the grass when spread out.

The delivery was fast and the driver way nice. Needed a large amount of dirt to fill several raised beds. This was the most cost effective solution. Would recommend.

The soil is serviceable. I'm South OTP of Atlanta and home depot was the only place we could get that would deliver to our area. There are large clumps of dense clay and more sticks than I expected, but it looks fine. It should work for our purposes. I definitely wouldn't use this on its own, but it's going on a strong base. Driver was extremely polite and put it exactly where we wanted. Was quick and efficient.

The supposed garden soil that Home Depot had delivered to me is almost all sand with gravel and chunks of concrete and very little soil. I will be surprised if much grows jn it. Do yourself a favor and find a local business to work with because there is no quality control with this set up

I purchased 5 cu/yd of garden soil and am extremely pleased! Home Depot uses local suppliers, which is great for local businesses. My delivery was scheduled efficiently and was on time. The driver was courteous and careful when delivering. The soil is extremely rich (you can smell the compost in it) which will be excellent for my raised beds. I do have the occasional clump of clay (I'm in NC; clay is everywhere), but it breaks up easily with your hands. I will definitely use this service again.

The delivery was on time, put the load where I requested was driver courtesy. A good mixture of dirt, sand and compost. I will use them for future reference.

We ordered 5 cubic yards of garden soil. It was delivered on time and dumped right where I asked.

5 yards bulk garden soil, delivered to my driveway and dumped on the tarp I provided. Delivery Driver was polite and cordial, on time, actually about 30 minutes early, which was excellent. The soil was great, very little foreign debris, very fine and will make my gardening very fruitful this year.

Order was placed and they contacted with delivery time/date. Dirt was delivered and the whole transaction/product was great. Would definitely recommend!

Easy to schedule and great quality garden soil delivered to where you want.

I paid $1225. The driver handed me a receipt showing that Home Depot paid $390. It was the same soil I had bought previously from the company that delivered it. It was quite bad, so I thought I’d try Home Depot. Instead of better soil, I got the same Sandy mix but paid three times what I would’ve if I had just contacted the supplier directly.

The garden soil looks very good. Hopefully, my plants will flourish in it. The driver was very friendly and professional. I'd buy this item again from Home Depot.

First, 5 yards is a lot of wheelbarrow loads so choose your dump location carefully. While the soil overall looks really good, there were quite a few hunks of clay that didn’t get mixed in. That’s representative of the native soil here though so hopefully they’ll integrate into the bigger mix at some point. The delivery was faster than anticipated and the company I dealt with was wonderful. I’m glad I bought it and excited to get my seeds planted!
