Efficient and easy to use

This Garden Tiller works very well for small areas where the soil is not hard-packed or bone dry. It is best suited for those beds which have been previously worked in prior years. For instance, I used it along the border of the flowerbed that extends along the front of my house. Every Spring I plant flowers there which I buy in 4" containers, usually Periwinkles or Begonias. So that soil was fairly loose to begin with and was an ideal spot to use this Tiller. Once you start tilling, you want to overlap your work space about halfway so that it really minces up the soil. I would also take the Tiller and poke or stab at the larger clods after each twist in order to break them up. You only have to turn the Tiller halfway for each plunge as that is sufficient for it to break up the soil. I was able to do my whole bed, about 60 sq ft, in fifteen minutes. I need to mention that this is a bed that has a soaker hose irrigation system located right on the surface, so I was able to work around that very easily with this tool as you can control it precisely where you want it to work. I highly recommend this hand Tiller for smaller, existing flower beds or gardens.

Have only used it once so far but I was able to create a hole for a new rose bush to be planted.

It takes way more energy than I imagined in hard soil. Th construction is good.

I was happy to find this stand up hand tiller at Home Depot. I used it to break up the dirt in my garden before planting spring bulbs this fall. Unfortunately it was a little tall for me, I would have liked an adjustable one to fit my height at 5'5''. Secondly, I have terrible soil and the clay soil would stick to the bottom of the tiller. I had to keep reaching down and pulling the clay from the claws. Once the soil was more broken up, it worked better. It looks sturdy and durable. Should last a long time.

Easy to use and has a good grip. I used it in medium size garden.
